MH 149 Boeing 7...somethingsomething...
Well. That's it. Got here in one piece (plus 5 pieces of luggage). Was overweight (baggage, not me!) by 38 kg, hahahah! That'd mean having to pay about 500 bucks extra, so the guy behind the counter says. But of course, the usual smooth-talking me (yes, I know) turned on my captivating charm and managed to get away with it. Seriously. In retrospect, quite unbelievable, but I did it anyway and felt forever grateful to the counter guy. After all, it's only this trip there that I'd be taking so much. School books, electric guitar, amplifier, and cans and packets of food made up most of the weight. Once I have these bare essentials of survival here, I'm cool. =)
Jet lag hit me hard this time round. After hauling all my heavy stuff out of the conveyer (for some reason the spelling of this word looks wrong. Anyone?) belt, through the airport, through quarantine, into the taxi, into the boarding house, into my room, I could barely stagger to my ice-cold bed (It is autumn into winter now). Curled up in a pathetic attempt to keep warm, I proceeded to sleep, blanket-less and all. It is ironic, that dressed in a t-shirt and baggy shorts, I was warm and comfortable all the way until I stepped into the boarding house. You'd think for all the money people pay, they'd at least have a better heating system. Pah. We suffer. For all you know, dig deep enough in the basement and you find a coupla girls turning wheels to generate heat for the place or something. Maybe that explains those mysterious disappearances in the past...
(P/S: Yes, I've been here for a coupla days now, and you'd be wondering why the date doesn't show the date I landed here. That's cause one day after I arrived, I had to pack up and leave for Theory of Knowledge Camp again before being able to finish writing my post. How annoying. But either way, ToK camp was good fun...just got back today. Maybe I'll say more about it next time. Later!)
